This site is the home for everything part of the mimochai world. It's best viewed on desktop but we're mobile friendly too :)
There's lots to explore! Besides the top nav menu on every page (the three little lines next to "MENU" if you're on mobile), here's a quick look at all three main sections:
Started in 2013 in downtown Los Angeles, mimochai is a little story and illustration world created by Mimi Chao. Its stories and characters share a love for meaningful make believe, and its products are meant to bring a sense of wonder to everyday life.
While the world will encompass many different realities and storylines, the main recurring mimochai characters are Emme, Hamstarcat, Ao and Rax. You can learn more about them here.
If you'd like stay connected, please follow your links of choice in the footer. You can also find the shops' FAQ here.

Hello :) I'm Mimi and creating for mimochai is my make believe reality. Things I used to make up in my head, I now get to turn into real life. It started out with just some doodles I posted on Instagram a few years ago. It has since become my personal passion endeavor, something that is always growing along with me. I love it.
For me, this site is really about connecting. Like most people, I love characters and stories (I want to say a big part of me is just a kid that never grew up, but I think actually most of us still have that in us—and that's awesome). Some of my favorites are Calvin & Hobbes, the Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter, the Roald Dahl books, the Shel Silverstein stories, Studio Ghibli and Pixar movies, and of course The Little Prince. I'm also very inspired by many forms of design, philosophy, and nature. At the end of the day, to express myself in a way that connects with someone on an emotional level, even if in just a small way, is what I find personally rewarding.
I am forever grateful to be able to live my dream. I think the internet is an amazing place. You can find a more personal backstory/bio at the About page on my personal blog. I also freelance in illustration design through my studio work at mimi-chao.com.
