MBR 2020: Themes + Quotes for the Decade

So comes the end of a decade, and another new year! In my last MBR post for 2019, I wrote at the end "That last image is for January 2020. I know I'll be turning to it before I know it." And it's true.

This year has been one of those "long days, short years." Looking back at the past decade, I realized my first real job started in December 2009 so I've been working for exactly 10 years. Obviously, a lot has changed. I am currently writing a longer version of this post, which will chronicle my career journey in case it helps others on a similar path. That will be up by this month.

Here are the themes and quotes I selected for this year's MBR Calendar (orders close Thursday 1/2)You can also read prior years' themes and quotes from 2019, 201820172016 and 2015. It's been six years :)

Every experience is a paradox in that it means to be absolute, and yet is relative; in that it somehow always goes beyond itself and yet never escapes itself. — T. S. Eliot

"To practice any art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow. So do it." — Kurt Vonnegut

“Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you.” — Ruth Bader Ginsburg

“A great man does not seek applause or place; he seeks for truth; he seeks the road to happiness, and what he ascertains, he gives to others.” — Robert Green Ingersoll

“At the center of your being you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want." — Lao Tzu

I am so looking forward to 2020. I feel clarity in what I am to do, and can't wait to bring it to life in its own quiet way. Wishing everyone a new year fully lived <3
